20ft under the sea resorts, perfect places for honeymoon

There are now more than 100 different island resorts in the Maldives - that’s a lot of luxury - so any newcomer has to offer something extra special. The Hurawalhi Island Resort, which opened last year, has plumbed the depths to make its mark: the restaurant gets its name from the fact it is 5.8 metres - about 20ft - under the sea.

Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge and her new husband, former Chelsea footballer Wayne Bridge, went to the Hurawalhi Island Resort in the Maldives, which boasts an underwater restaurant.

The ocean eatery serves lunch and dinner with a 'multi-course tasting extravaganza' on offer. It is the largest all-glass undersea restaurant in the world.

To get to the Hurawalhi resort, holidaymakers must take a 40-minute seaplane flight from Male International Airport. The resort is located on a private coral island and is enveloped by the Indian Ocean.
