This airline has been named the best in the world

TripAdvisor has named Emirates the best airline in the world.

Emirates airline has now been named the best airline in the world as per the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards.

The category for airlines has been introduced for the first time this year.

Emirates also bagged awards in the categories of Best Major Airline-Middle East and Africa, Best Economy Class, and Best First Class.

"We are honoured to be named the Best Airline in the World at the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards for Airlines 2017," said Tim Clark, president of Emirates. "The fact that the awards are a result of unbiased reviews and feedback speaks to our commitment to deliver a superior travel experience for our customers."

The airline review platform was launched in July '16, where travellers submitted written feedback, rating carriers on legroom, seat comfort, customer service, value for money, cleanliness, check-in and boarding, food and beverage and in-flight entertainment.

Emirates is among the world's largest international airlines. Owned entirely by the government of Dubai, the carrier is currently serving 155 destinations in 83 countries across six continents.

Singapore Airlines and Brazil's Azul bagged the second and third position, respectively. The other airlines who made it to the top 10 list included JetBlue (USA), Air New Zealand, Korean Air, Japan Airlines, Thai Smile, Alaska Airlines and Garuda Indonesia.
