The third generation Maruti Dzire will be based on all-new HEARTECT platform which also forms basis for Baleno premium hatchback and upcoming 2017 Maruti Swift hatchback. As Hyundai India launched its all-new Xcent compact sedan in the country recently, country's largest car maker doesn't want to be left behind. The car maker bids to revive the overall design of its sub-compact offering which has been officially revealed in the sketch.
The sedan will be manufactured through Maruti s new facility in Gujarat. As it will be based on new lightweight platform, the new generation Maruti Swift Dzire will be lighter in weight & better in terms of fuel efficiency. It will also sport major exterior design updates on the outside as well as inside with engine options remaining untouched. At the front, the sedan will carry all-new hexagonal grille with company logo in the centre, new bumpers, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps, wider air dams and much more. Inside the cabin, the complete layout and design has been revised yet gives a neat and stylish look. It also gets a touch-screen infotainment system, LCD MID, 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with wood inserts and much more.
Under the hood, the next-gen Dzire sedan will continue to get same engines as that of current model 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel. The former is capable of producing 83bhp of power along with peak torque of 115Nm whereas the latter is tuned to produce 74bhp and 190Nm of power figures. Both the engines will come coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox while an optional AMT or CVT unit could be offered as an option. See More: Upcoming Maruti Suzuki car launches in 2017-18; Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza Petrol & S-Cross.
