his insect is literally hated by everyone out there as they are reckless disease spreaders. They look shabby and dirty too. Cockroaches have been the most ancient insects that existed even before the first man took his step on earth.

Let’s see some fascinating facts about this insect:
1. Cockroaches spend over 75% of their time staying idle and can survive even under freezing temperatures.
2. A beheaded cockroach can live up to a week. This is because they can breathe through holes that are present in each of their body segments. This makes air flow independent of the head. It dies because it cannot drink water.
3. An average cockroach runs at a speed of 3 miles per hour. This speed is enough to spread all the germs inside the household.
4. Newborn cockroaches shape into an adult in as less as 36 days.
5. The speed of a newborn cockroach that looks as small as a speck of dust can run as fast as its parents.
6. The American cockroach is alcoholic! It is attracted to beer and other alcoholic drinks mixed with sugar!
7. The largest cockroach in the world is found in South America and is 6 inches long!
8. Cockroaches can live without food for a month, but cannot survive over a week without water.
9. Out of 4000 species of cockroaches, only 30 of them are listed as pests.
10. The bacteria that lives in the body of a cockroach supplies it with sufficient vitamins, thus making bacteria a necessary evil.
