Eight ways to feel happy and satisfied with your life

You come back home, throw your bag in some place you could see it as a hindrance from and sit on the couch like you've never seen it before, thinking about the cruelty of the corporate world or the society in general.
Why are we so dissatisfied with our lives? Why can't we, for one day, come back full of energy at our homes and feel the vibrant atmosphere?
We humans are trapped in the world of the never ending chain of birth-work-death. We cannot escape it, no matter how hard we try. We've also made quotes that force us to work against our will but these are made for people who love what they do, not for those who haven't chosen the life that they're living.
Go on a jog, play badminton, shop for hours or dance on your favourite playlist for hours. Do what you love to do and you'll never feel tired, instead you'll feel fresh and alive. Some people would disagree and say, "We'll that's what hobbies are for. They help us to feel good. They won't earn us the kind of money that the corporate work does" but the fact of the world is, everyone is good in something or the other without learning the initial levels. Some people like computer languages, some are good in writing, some can dance while some can skate. That's the reason every sport, every passion a human has is given a profession. There is competition everywhere in the world, in every stream. The same amount of struggle is required for an arts background as by science. The only difference is the level of awareness people have about them. Not everyone has the courage and resources to go against their family's decisions. Not everyone finds out their passion when the time is appropriate. What for them? How do they carry out the rest of their life? The answer is simple. Like the way majority of the adults are doing today- in disappointment.
So now, as the cause is known, what solution do we have for them?
Let's jump onto few pointers that I've made with my sweat and tears. Just kidding.

 1Exercise everyday.

As obvious and easy as it sounds, you have to exercise in some or the other form, every single day. Keep the excuses like, " I have so much to work. I can't take out that time", at bay. You can at least take out 30 minutes for yourself from the busy box of 24 hours around you. Hop in your running shoes and escape in the world of mirth until your stopwatch rings. It would maintain that smooth and efficient flow of blood through your body and give you the boost you need to tackle the problems of your ongoing life.

2. Visit the underprivileged.

Once a month on any weekend, plan your trip to the part of your city you know that exists but have never been there - the orphanage and old age home. Indulge in their lifestyle for a day and become one of them. You would have never felt more blessed in your entire life, no matter what financial background you hold. Seeing the joy in those young eyes even after having nothing as compared to the general society would fill your heart with empathy and sense of oneness. We humans have forgotten to live, to admire what we have in this never ending competition of being better from our neighbor. We crave for diamonds and don't  appreciate the ruby in our hand. Thus, to remind our little brain to express gratitude towards our already good life, visiting and helping that part of society is essential.

3. Make a list

Make a list of elements (i.e. ideas, thoughts, etc) that bring you down to the deep seas of negativity. Keep a small notepad near your work desk. Whenever a thought other than your work strikes your mind, write it down, only to get back to it during your break hours.

4. Time yourself

To work efficiently, Work straight for 25 minutes with a 5 minutes break proceeding it. When you start feeling exhausted, take a break of 30 minutes in which you'll completely zone out. Forget about the existence of any other being around you (Not in a turning into a maniac way, but a normal one). In this course of time, try deep breathing.
Breathe in for 3 seconds, stay for 5 more and Breathe out for 7 seconds.
Continue this until you feel completely sane and light, mentally.

5. Walk

If you have a desk job or if you're a student, instead of gliding your chair through the floor, stand up and get your job done. During your break hours, walk around your lobby or get some fresh air if possible. Get that blood flowing through your body. Take the stairs instead of elevator unless you're very late. This would give you the kind of energy and stimulation that you require to function efficiently.

6. Try meditation

Meditation does not require the hardcore penance as most of the people believe. It can be as simple as focusing on your breath and maintaining a count of it. I will cover an entire article over the ways of meditation in the near future but to just cut to the chase, take out 5 minutes to the maximum for your mental wellbeing.

7. Do not attend late night parties

By that I mean, do not over exert your body on Sunday nights as it would definitely exhaust you for the rest of the day, thus decreasing your productivity and making negative use of your time. When you have to do it anyway, why not with an energetic mind? You can schedule your hangouts and dates for the daytime or on Saturdays. Have fun but know your priorities.

8. Smile

Smile for your life, smile for no reason, smile because you're breathing, just smile. Your mind is an emotional fool. Fool it in worst of the situations by just faking a smile. I kid you not, it works wonders. Tried and successfully tested with positive results.

You might know about all of these points through some or the other sources of information but now is the time to work on them. I personally have worked on them and the positive results have compelled me to share them with every person possible. The initial few phases will be tiring and you would definitely feel an urge to get back to your comfort zone. Remind yourself of your reasons for starting this at the first place and you'll feel motivated like never before.
Let me know about the positives and negatives of trying these ways and I'll be of more help to you.
Cheers!
